The 'Hoos are now at 85 scholarship athletes and are not able to sign any more players through the portal ahead of next season, unless there is some number shuffling. UVA also added two offensive linemen pledges the last few weeks with both Brian Stevens and Jimmy Christ pledging to the Cavaliers, transferring from Dayton and Penn State respectively. He is the second defensive back the Cavaliers were able to secure from the transfer portal with the 'Hoos also adding in-state native and Clemson defensive back Malcolm Greene. He had 19 tackles and four passes defended. Westfall played in 27 games over his four seasons, starting 11 games last year. He chose the 'Hoos over other programs including: Old Dominion, Coastal Carolina, and Utah State among others. Virginia added one more to the 2023 class, SMU transfer cornerback Sam Westfall, who officially visited the Cavaliers this past weekend.
